22/02/08 VFL Bochum 2:1 Hannover 96

Lost in Bochum

Journey:

This time I joined the bus of the supporters club. For the 250 KM it took us about three hours and we arrived on time to the ground.

The Stadium

Stadium: rewirpower-Stadion (Ruhrstadion)
City: Bochum
State: North Rhine-Westphalia
Country: Germany
Capacity: 32.328

Game:

All in all it was a very poor game. Hannover started with an own goal and did not find a way through Bochums defense in the first half. In the second half Hanke scored the equalizer but shortly after that Auer scored the lead for Bochum. At the end Hannover played with three strikers but there was no way to win this game.

Atmosphere:

For an away game on a Friday evening the attendance was very good. I would guess that
about 400 supporters from Hannover made their way to the stadium. Even while the team was loosing the support didn´t break up and everyone was cheering.

Beer Index:

That was the first time that I had beer that got a first name. With 3.30 Euro for 0.5 l for a Moritz Fiege the price was ok. But I didn´t like the taste very much.

Game:

The home game against Bayern München is the highlight of the season and was sold out weeks ago. In the first half of the match Hannover was playing really good but was not able to make the score. In the second half FC Bayern Münch played much better and with three goals of the italian striker Luca Tony the game was lost.

Choreo

Atmosphere:

The atmosphere was a lot better than the one we had against Karlsruhe. The Ultras had a small choreo and out of my view the support in the first half was good. After the goals from Toni we all got frustrated and so the support was less.

09/02/08 Hannover 96 2:2 Karlsruher SC

Hannover plays only draw against Karlsruhe SC

Hannover 96

Journey:

Home game, no trip

Hannover 96

Game:

First ten minutes Hannover was playing realy well. Stajner was on every end of the pitch and it seemed that the team will start as they did against Hamburg one week earlier. But then somehow the game lost on speed and lost level. Short before the halftime Balitsch scored the the 1:0 lead out of the nothing. After the break the home team tried to score a second time but Karlsruhe turned the game around with goals from Hajnal and Kennedy. Hannover was on shock but in minute 87 Rosentahl scored very nice long distance shot. But we all knew that a draw was not enough. In the extra time Hanke scored the third goal for the Reds but the ref said he played foul before. What a dramatic end. But better one point than no point!

Atmosphere:

At the beginning the atmosphere was Ok. Later there was hardly nothing to hear. After the two goals from Karlsruhe it got worse. But at the dramatic end all went nuts at with the game the atmosphere turned around.

02/02/08 Hamburg 1:1 Hannover 96

HSV:HSV
Hamburg facing Hannover 96

The stadium

Journey:

After a long winter break finally the German Bundesliga kicked off. First game took place in Hamburg. I traveled by car with some mates which picked me up in the morning at my home. After 1 1/2 hours we arrived to the HSH Nordbank Arena. Before they started changing the name every weekend it was called AOL Arena an long long before the arena was called Volksparkstadium.

Entrance

Game:

The game was surprisingly good. Hannover dominated the first 45 min. with a quick offensive play. But the team needed a penalty which scored the Hungarian striker Huszti. Also the start into the second half was ok. But Hamburg got better and after several critical offside situations Hamburgs player Olic scored the equalizer. At the end the draw was a good result for both teams

Hamburg supporters

Atmosphere:

Plenty of Hannover 96 supporters made their short way to Hamburg. Out of my opinion the atmosphere was fantastic in the sold out arena. Give the video below a try
and you will see.

"Banderas de Hannover"

Beer Index:

The local beer is called Holsten which is not very tasty. What I liked was the 2 for 1 happy hour before kick off. Makes the beer not tasting much better but 3.50 Euros for two 0.4 l is not that bad.
